Time is Elastic?

This is one of those things you read and desperately hope is a joke, but somehow think maybe it’s not:

“I made the crucial error last week of taking my freshmen students to task for wandering into class as much as 10-15 minutes late. I get supremely annoyed at that kind of attitude, because I’ve seen it too often infect other parts of students’ work ethic…Then this morning I see the following email from my Dean…”

This is just…insane. I know College Misery gets a little…overdramatic sometimes, but still…

  • This is too funny. πŸ™‚ Gosh, I really want to know the name of that school because judging by how much free time the profs, the Dean and the students have on their hands to engage in all this, they must have very relaxed schedules.

    I’m still giggling here. πŸ™‚

I’m just blown away that any higher level management person would immediately accept the exact version of any set of events as told by the complainer and, without asking for any corroboration or POV from the one complained about, tell that person to change what they are doing.

And copy the complainer on it.

This happened to me all the time when I worked in a church, especially if the complainer was a particularly significant donor, but I had this thought that maybe out in the world we’d see less of it.
